About
Prelude Lake Park is located on Hwy 4 (Ingraham Trail) 30 km from the city of Yellowknife. The park is popular among locals for hiking, swimming, power boating, and watersports. The campground offers 67 non-powered campsites that can accommodate a variety of equipment types and 12 walk-in tent sites.
The park’s sandy beach, large marina and boat launch allow visitors to enjoy a wide range of water activities. The lake about 16 km long, stretches east and west and forms part of the Cameron River system. There are several islands, and many pleasant places to fish for trout and pike. The park’s trail system includes a short (0.5 km) hike to a panoramic view of the lake and a longer interpretive hike along the nature trail loop; follow a series of informative signs along the way, with pictures the whole family will enjoy!
Is Prelude Lake Territorial Park fully booked?
A campground showing no availability is almost never full for good. People cancel — plans change, weather turns, someone books three weekends and keeps one — and the site goes straight back into the booking system, usually without warning and often at odd hours. The reason sold-out campgrounds feel impossible is not that sites never free up; it is that nobody is watching at the moment they do.
CampHawk watches Prelude Lake Territorial Park in Yellowknife, NT for you. We recheck it every 15 seconds, around the clock, and the moment a site opens we send a text, an email and a push notification, with a link straight to the booking page.
Searching is free and needs no account — the calendar above is live right now. Watching Prelude Lake Territorial Park for cancellations is the paid part.
