About
MacKinnon Territorial Park is located in the community of Norman Wells, on the bank of the Mackenzie River. The park offers seven non-powered campsites and basic amenities including outhouses, a playground and picnic shelter.
Activities include an interpretive site, as well as sand volleyball and frisbee golf. The park's proximity to the river and the Mackenzie Mountains makes it a popular respite for river trippers, or hikers setting out on the rugged and renowned Canol Trail.
Please note, the community of Norman Wells is not accessible by road. There is no internet access at this park. Sites cannot be reserved online. They are available by self registration on a first come, first serve basis.
Is MacKinnon Territorial Park fully booked?
A campground showing no availability is almost never full for good. People cancel — plans change, weather turns, someone books three weekends and keeps one — and the site goes straight back into the booking system, usually without warning and often at odd hours. The reason sold-out campgrounds feel impossible is not that sites never free up; it is that nobody is watching at the moment they do.
CampHawk watches MacKinnon Territorial Park in Norman Wells, NT for you. We recheck it every 15 seconds, around the clock, and the moment a site opens we send a text, an email and a push notification, with a link straight to the booking page.
Searching is free and needs no account — the calendar above is live right now. Watching MacKinnon Territorial Park for cancellations is the paid part.
