About
Overview
Howers Campground is located on the northeast shore of the scenic Deadwood Reservoir in western Idaho. Boating, fishing and hiking are popular activities in this remote area.

Recreation
Because of its remote location, Deadwood Reservoir is quiet and unpopulated, making for great fishing for Chinook and Kokanee salmon, as well as rainbow and cutthroat trout.
Boating, water skiing, canoeing and kayaking are popular on the lake, and a boat ramp is located about two miles away at Cozy Cove Campground.
Several trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback and off-road vehicle riding wind around the lake shore and surrounding landscape.
Facilities
This primitive campground offers waterfront sites with direct shoreline access. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided, but there is no electricity. Roads and parking spurs within the site are dirt.
Natural Features
The campground is situated in a mixed-growth pine forest, offering plenty of shade. Summer wildflowers are abundant, and the campground affords sweeping views of the reservoir.
Amenities
Is HOWERS fully booked?
A campground showing no availability is almost never full for good. People cancel — plans change, weather turns, someone books three weekends and keeps one — and the site goes straight back into the booking system, usually without warning and often at odd hours. The reason sold-out campgrounds feel impossible is not that sites never free up; it is that nobody is watching at the moment they do.
CampHawk watches HOWERS in Lowman, ID for you. We recheck it every 15 seconds, around the clock, and the moment a site opens we send a text, an email and a push notification — and on Recreation.gov we can put the site straight into your cart, so it is held while you get to your phone.
Searching is free and needs no account — the calendar above is live right now. Watching HOWERS for cancellations is the paid part.
