About

Overview

Avintaquin Campground is located atop scenic Indian Canyon, just off Highway 191 between Duchesne and Helper.

Visitors come to the area for its scenic beauty, wildlife viewing opportunities and to explore the Reservation Ridge Scenic Backway.

Recreation

Reservation Ridge Scenic Backway accesses the campground. This dirt road is open to off-road vehicles, mountain biking and hiking, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area. Additional hiking trails are in the area. Avintaquin Creek and numerous springs are nearby.

Facilities

The campground contains one group site that can accommodate up to 50 people, with several picnic tables, a campfire ring, grills, utility tables and parking for 10 vehicles. Several single-family sites are available, each equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring and utility table. Vault toilets are available, but there is no running water. Campers must bring their own supply.

Is AVINTAQUIN CAMPGROUND fully booked?

A campground showing no availability is almost never full for good. People cancel — plans change, weather turns, someone books three weekends and keeps one — and the site goes straight back into the booking system, usually without warning and often at odd hours. The reason sold-out campgrounds feel impossible is not that sites never free up; it is that nobody is watching at the moment they do.

CampHawk watches AVINTAQUIN CAMPGROUND in Duchesne, UT for you. We recheck it every 15 seconds, around the clock, and the moment a site opens we send a text, an email and a push notification — and on Recreation.gov we can put the site straight into your cart, so it is held while you get to your phone.

Searching is free and needs no account — the calendar above is live right now. Watching AVINTAQUIN CAMPGROUND for cancellations is the paid part.
