About

Overview

Collins Cove is a first-come, first-served, primitive campground. Each of the 10 camping units have a wooden picnic table, fire ring, and hitching rails. This grassy campground is shaded with hardwoods, hemlocks, and pines and offers direct access to horse trails. Centrally located garbage bins and a vault toilet are available. A creek is located adjacent to the campground as a source of water for horses, but potable water is not available.

Horse owners need to have a current negative Coggins test certificate for any horse they take to a public place for recreation use in Virginia.

Recreation

Collins Cove is in the watershed of Cripple Creek that offers fishing and wading. The camp provides access to several trails: (4614) Ewing Mountain, (4504) Mike’s Gap, (4615) Moore, (4601) Raven Cliff and (337) Highlands Horse Trail.

Is Collins Cove Horse Campground fully booked?

A campground showing no availability is almost never full for good. People cancel — plans change, weather turns, someone books three weekends and keeps one — and the site goes straight back into the booking system, usually without warning and often at odd hours. The reason sold-out campgrounds feel impossible is not that sites never free up; it is that nobody is watching at the moment they do.

CampHawk watches Collins Cove Horse Campground in Marion, VA for you. We recheck it every 15 seconds, around the clock, and the moment a site opens we send a text, an email and a push notification — and on Recreation.gov we can put the site straight into your cart, so it is held while you get to your phone.

Searching is free and needs no account — the calendar above is live right now. Watching Collins Cove Horse Campground for cancellations is the paid part.
